István Fülöp (born 4 May 1958) is a Hungarian politician, member of the National Assembly (MP) for Mátészalka ( Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Constituency IX) between 2002 and 2014. He was a member of the Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF) until 2004 when expelled from the party along with other members of the Lakitelek Group led by Sándor Lezsák. They founded the National Forum which alliance with the Fidesz Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Alliance (; ) is a national-conservative political party in Hungary led by Viktor Orbán. It has increasingly identified as illiberal. Originally formed in 1988 under the name of Alliance of Young Democrats () as ... in that year. Fülöp, later, joined Fidesz in 2005. He was the President of the Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg county government from 2006 to 2008. Personal life He is married. His wife is Judit Fülöpné Kecskés. They have two sons, Arnold and Ákos. The National Assembly ( ) is the parliament of Hungary. The unicameral body consists of 199 (386 between 1990 and 2014) members elected to four-year terms. Sándor Lezsák (born 30 October 1949) is a Hungarian poet, teacher and politician. Between 2 April 2012 and 10 May 2012, Lezsák was temporarily the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, as the resignation of Pál Schmitt led to Speaker László Kövér becoming acting President of Hungary. Once again Lezsák 26 February 2024 to 5 March 2024 temporarily became the speaker of the National Assembly, as the resignation of Katalin Novák led Speaker László Kövér becoming acting President of Hungary. Lakitelek is a large village in Bács-Kiskun county, in the Southern Great Plain region of southern Hungary. Geography It covers an area of and had a population of 4411 people in 2015. It is 120 km from Budapest, 27 km from Kecskemét, and only 3 km from the river of Tisza. It is easily accessible from several directions- either on the main road M44 or by rail on the MÁV No. 146 Kecskemét – Kunszentmárton and No. 145 Szolnok – Kiskunfélegyháza railway side lines.
